Temple University has received a $7.5 million grant from the Patient-Centered Outcomes Research Institute (PCORI) to launch a groundbreaking study focused on improving transportation independence for youth and young adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities.
Led by Professor Beth Pfeiffer and her team at Temple University's College of Public Health, the research will compare the effectiveness of peer-based support versus professional-led training. The study will help participants develop critical travel skills, such as reading signs, interacting with others, and managing unexpected challenges. Read the full story here!
