Biography
Dr. Thomas is an assistant professor in the Department of Social and Behavioral Sciences within the College of Public Health at Temple University. She is a psychologist and mental health services researcher with a background in psychiatric rehabilitation and recovery-oriented treatment for individuals with serious mental illnesses. To date, her research interests and work have particularly centered on early intervention in psychosis, clinical decision-making (including the elucidation of treatment targets that promote community integration) and the role of peer specialists in fostering service engagement and community integration. Currently, Dr. Thomas is pursuing research on peer-delivered decision support to enhance emerging adults' engagement in early intervention services with support from a K08 Mentored Clinical Scientist Research Career Development Award from the National Institute of Mental Health.
